As they say at the Kentucky Derby..."Down the stretch they come"

Not much time left of this outstanding school year but still plenty to do.

First off I would be remise not to mention HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!! We have such incredible teachers here at WCV Middle School and I am feel so honored to work with these awesome individuals everyday.

We did it again! For the second straight year WCV MS Student Council, led by Mrs. Pease, was chosen as the award winning middle school in the Iowa Hall of Pride - Pride Challenge!! We are so honored and humbled to receive this recognition. Our students work so hard to give back in many ways. I am so proud of this accomplishment. Reason #4832 to be proud of our students and staff at WCV MS!!!

3rd quarter journalism students from Mrs. Sylvester's class have produced another school newsletter. Check it out on the tab to the left.

Don't forget to sign-up for baseball or softball in the main office. Practice will start May 14th.

Our last Middle School Dance of the year is this Friday, May 11th from 6:30 - 9:00. Please be here no later than 9:00 to pick up your children. Remember this is for WCV MS kids only and the dress is casual but school appropriate.

Our annual bike ride to Linden starts with our 6th grade on May 16, 7th Grade on May 17th, and 8th Grade on May 18th weather permitting of course. Please be sure to label your child's bike in some manner. Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Pease at mpease@wcv.k12.ia.us

7th grade is heading to the Downtown Des Moines for an awesome educational field trip on May 16th. Questions about this field trip can be directed to Ms. Blunt at vblunt@wcv.k12.ia.us

8th graders will be heading to the high school for an orientation day on May 23rd. We are looking forward to easing them into this transition.

Our music department has been working very diligently to perform at their annual spring concert coming up on Tuesday, May 15th. I look forward to seeing many of you here.

May 25th is our LAST DAY! We will start that day with an awards assembly at approximately 9:00 AM for all kids and transition into our annual 8th grade promotion ceremony at approximately 10:30 with a parent reception following.
